Strange replication/starting problem (1 reply)

I want to setup another slave like described in: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/replication-howto-additionalslaves.html

But whenever I start the new slave database, all database related file get moved from /var/lib/mysql to /var/lib/mysql/mysql@002eoff .

A search for "mysql@002eoff" has zero results.

What is happening here and why?
