Getting master status (no replies)

Hi all,

Is there another way of getting master bin log file and position information other then running "show master status"?

I know for "show slave status", you can actually get the same information from the master.info file. But I couldn't find the same file for master bin log info. Is there something like this or "show master status" is the only way of getting that info?
