Miss Records (3 replies)

Hi,

I have had an interesting problem ...

First let me tell you about our enviroment.

We have 3 web servers ... 2 for LIVE and 1 for BACKUP.

We have a failover using a load balancer that if the 2 LIVE webserver fail with Layer 4 or Layer 7 that this would fall back on BACKUP.

This is a Master To Master relationship.

On BACKUP hourly a database dump is performed.

Next let me tell you about my problem.

This morning at 6 AM we noticed that all records have been removed from the database between Dec. 22nd to Jan. 4th.

I did not see anything odd or usual.

I could not locate the problem ... So I performed a restore from a database dump dump.

I did this by stopping the slave on both and doing the dump on both and resetting and then starting the slaves again insuring the positions matched up. (this is where I am confused if this is correct or not)

End result is everything was running smoothly and data was restored for Dec. 22nd to Jan. 4th 2 PM.

About an hourish later we lost more data but weirdly only the data between Jan. 4th 2 PM onwards.

Anything I can look for?
